Helping build friendships and community connections for the over 65s across our region.

AgeConnect is a nation-first initiative from Age Concern Nelson Tasman, set up in 2017 to help build friendships and community connections for the over 65s across the region.

As well as working with communities and existing services to promote social connection and help people find ways to meet others, AgeConnect also raises awareness about what we can all do to play our part in making the region age-friendly.

One way we do this is through our annual AgeConnect Champions Awards, which celebrate those who go out of their way to help the older people in our community feel more connected and respected.

Celebrating the region’s ‘good sorts’ - those wonderful people, businesses and organisations who contribute to the wellbeing of our community.

The AgeConnect Champions Awards recognise and reveal acts of generosity and kindness towards our older adults that the wider public do not know about.
