About us

Age Concern Nelson Tasman

We are the charity people over 65 go to for services they need in Nelson-Tasman.

Our team is dedicated to improving the quality of life and wellbeing of older people in our region.

Get involved

Do you want to volunteer in our community?

We are always ready to welcome people who are willing to volunteer their time to help keep older people more connected with their communities.

Volunteering has many benefits, both for the community you are helping and for your own health, wellbeing, sense of purpose and social connections.

Current volunteer roles:

Our Visitor Service is a wonderful, simple way to connect two people in a long-term friendship.

We ask that you can visit someone (or take them out for a coffee, or a visit to the shops) once a week for around an hour. We have more than 80 volunteers across the region, but there is plenty of demand, so we are always looking for more.

If you think you fit the bill and enjoy chatting to older people, please give Susan Arrowsmith a call to find out more on 03 544 7624 ext 3, or email Susan here.
