Housing experiences & future needs in the Nelson Tasman region

Age Concern Nelson Tasman is conducting research to better understand residents' housing experiences and future housing needs in Nelson and Tasman.

As part of this work, we are running two surveys.

  • The homeowner survey is aimed at homeowners aged 55 and over, to understand:

    • Whether those aged 55 and above are beginning to consider their future housing needs as they age and approach retirement.

    • The experiences and challenges faced by homeowners aged 55 and over, including financial pressures and the kinds of support that might help them to stay in their own homes.

  • The renter survey is aimed at people aged 65 and over who live in or need rented accommodation and explores the experiences and challenges older individuals may face when renting.
