1:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Nelson Cathedral
1 Trafalgar Square

Our wonderful Hummin’ Strummers are group of vibrant, joyful and passionate people who gather weekly at the office of Age Concern Nelson Tasman building in Bridge Street. The group started three years ago with only three people and has grown to a regular group attendance of 20-25 people. One of the successes of this group is the laughter we share and the genuine friendships that have been formed that reaches far beyond the walls of Age Concern. Not everyone plays the ukulele. Some play guitars, tambourine or the kazoo and everyone sings their hearts out.

This colourful crew plays a repertoire of classic older songs, Christmas carols, children’s songs, and country music, to name a few. They’ll have a crack at almost anything, but have yet to explore techno, heavy rock, or rap but who knows what is ahead of them. You will be treated to songs that you will tap your toes and sing along to-from Silent Night to Aunty Alice, Pōkarekare Ana to A White Sports Coat and everything in between.

Whilst this group has grown to a size that we can no longer take new members we are happy to hear from those that are interested, and we may form another group. You can contact us directly at just pop into the Nelson office for a chat. or take a look at our other events and activities.

We hope to see you at the Nelson Cathedral on Tuesday 2nd December, 1pm.
