Elder Abuse Awareness Week (15–22 June) is a time to shine a light on a serious but often hidden issue. Each year, Age Concern Nelson Tasman supports around 110 older people affected by elder abuse, most often financial abuse, and sadly, often by family members. Abuse can also be emotional, physical, sexual, institutional, or through neglect.
