Last week we hosted a celebratory afternoon together with members, supporters, staff, board of trustees and various friends of Age Concern Nelson Tasman. It was a full house and a special opportunity to reflect on the past year. You can read about the highlights of the year in our Annual Impact Report 2024-2025, which showcases the achievements made possible through the generosity and dedication of our community.

During the brief AGM segment of the afternoon, we confirmed some changes to our Trust Board. After many years of dedicated service as Chair, Bevan Grant has stepped down from the role. We are very grateful for his steady leadership and commitment, and we are pleased that he will continue to contribute as a valued Trustee.

We are delighted to announce that Lynley Lee, formerly our Treasurer, has been appointed Chair. Lynley brings extensive knowledge of our work and a strong passion for our kaupapa, and we know she will continue to provide excellent leadership.

Stepping into the role of Treasurer is Michael Ny, one of our current Trustees. Michael’s expertise and enthusiasm will be a great asset in this role. There are no other changes to our Board of Trustees, and we thank each of them for their ongoing commitment and support.

Our special thanks to Wolfgang Passl, from our Beyond the Face Photo Exhibition, who captivated the room with his charismatic reading of two of his stories. We were thrilled to wrap up the event with representatives from our beloved Hummin’ Strummers whose ukulele-accompanied songs had many of us toe-tapping and singing along.

Thanks to everyone who joined us - and to all our members, volunteers, trustees, donors, funders and supporters who have walked along side us this last year. Here’s to another successful year ahead, together supporting the region’s older adults to age well.
