🌟Bring your Sparkle 🌟
International Day of the Older Person is an important occasion here at Age Concern Nelson Tasman and each year we organize a large-scale celebration full of fun, entertainment and tasty food.
This year we will hold our Afternoon Tea event at the Annesbrook Community Church on Tuesday 30th September from 1:30pm - 3:00pm. We invite you to add some extra sparkle to the day. Don a sparkly hat, pop on glittery glasses, drape a shiny sash, or anything else that lets your sparkle shine!
Bookings essential! Seats are limited to 100 people so please register with Marnie on 5447624 ext 5 or email ageconnect@ageconcernnt.org.nz.
About International Day of the Older Person
International Day of the Older Person was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations and set for 1 October. It was observed for the first time in 1991 so has been running for over 30 years. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the issues affecting older persons. It also provides an opportunity to take steps to demonstrate respect. Older people are caretakers and custodians of traditions and so much knowledge and information are held within their experiences and memory.
